Physical Requirements | This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; working at heights above four feet; and exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; loud noises; temperature extremes; and blood-borne/airborne pathogens; intermittently requires working in confined spaces; and occasionally requires job-related travel (less than 10% of time), exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, recombinant DNA or viral vectors, and combative/violent people. |

Job Summary | The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at UKHC is pivotal in delivering prompt medical care, transportation, and empathetic service to patients in emergencies. This role demands a combination of medical proficiency, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to patient care. Operating in a fast-paced and often high-pressure environment, the EMT is responsible for assessing patient conditions, providing essential medical assistance, and ensuring patients are safely transported to healthcare facilities. |
