Environmental Specialist


Position Summary:


The Environmental Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and implementing sustainable practices at [Company Name]. This role involves overseeing hazardous material shipping, managing environmental management systems, and representing the company in regulatory matters.


Key Responsibilities:


Regulatory Compliance:


Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including:


EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)


TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality)


REACH (Registration, evaluation, and authorization of chemicals)


DOT (Department of Transportation)


GCA (Gulf Coast Authority)


LPCAC (Laporte Community Action Committee)


SWP3-MSG (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan- Multi Sector General Permit)


Respond to regulatory inquiries and represent the company in statutory and regulatory matters.


Environmental Management Systems:


Develop and manage the ISO14001 environmental management system.


Ensure compliance with environmental policies and objectives.


Monitor and report on environmental performance.


Hazardous Materials:


Oversee hazardous material shipping operations to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.


Issue Certificates of Analysis for product release.


Corporate Social Responsibility:


Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate social responsibility initiatives.


Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.


3-5 years of relevant work experience in environmental management.


Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.


Experience with ISO14001 environmental management systems.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
