The EMBRACE (Equity in Maternal and Birthing outcomes and Reproductive Health through Community Engagement) Center is seeking a “Deputy Director of Research” position. The EMBRACE Center is an NIH-funded Research Center of Excellence that aims to enhance Black maternal health and well-being and reproductive equity and justice in Allegheny County through strong community/academic partnerships and engagement
Provides oversight and supervision of all administrative, staffing, and clinical functions for highly regulated programs, projects, and initiatives within a research program. Facilitates strategic planning, budgetary systems and cost models, and space management. Acts as signatory authority and oversees all reporting functions. Develops a biosafety manual.
Strategic Management: Develop, implement, and direct research operations, including administrative, budgetary, fiscal, and policy matters. Prepare analyses, manage administrative functions, and oversee education, training, outreach, and policy development.
Coordination of Projects: Oversee and coordinate all research projects across EMBRACE, ensuring alignment and integration across various components of the Center.
Research Design and Administration: Manage research protocols and methods development, including designing study protocols, managing data analysts, contributing to grant proposals, and supervising research staff.
Staff Supervision: Hire, train, and supervise staff. Conduct performance reviews, handle disciplinary actions, manage work schedules, and provide professional development opportunities.
Data Management: Oversee data entry, report dissemination, data management procedures, and ensure adherence to developed research protocols.
Policy Implementation: Implement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures that support high-quality research services and meet professional, regulatory, and organizational standards
