The Role

ITHAKA is seeking a teamwork and detail oriented individual to support access to the ITHAKA suite of products and services across our communities. You will join Outreach and Participation Services, a team dedicated to growing and managing our network of more than 11,000 library partners in 170 countries.

As an Outreach Participation Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our full suite of platform products and services such as JSTOR, Portico, and ITHAKA Infrastructure Services. This is a great opportunity for a collaborative and service oriented individual who loves a challenge to learn what goes into managing our relationships, from identifying prospects to supporting them through the sales cycle. You will work under the direction of the Senior Manager, Outreach Operations and Support and in partnership withthe Outreach team, with an emphasis on a regional pod team. This is a full-time position, expected to work 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities

The Outreach Participant Specialist supports the sales activities of the Outreach regional teams. You will collaborate with Outreach Account Ownersand libraries to facilitate the ordering process, provide pre-sale and post-sale support, and lead the administrative needs of the Outreach team.


  • Collaborate with Outreach Account Owners to achieve participation goals and expand access to the full ITHAKA suite of services.
  • Work with libraries to provide quotes, accept orders, and license access to ITHAKA products and services.
  • Process orders across ITHAKA product lines.
  • Facilitate the renewal process in partnership with ITHAKA teams.
  • Complete administrative outreach tasks such as lead assignment, data entry, and contact management.
  • Ensure and maintain high quality data in ITHAKA's CRM.
  • Respond to customer inquiries for identified needs and campaigns.
  • Provide additional support across ITHAKA territories as needed.
  • Occasional travel, comprising less than 10% of the time, may be necessary, with a primary focus on visits to our Michigan and New York offices.
Experience and Skills

  • Strong email, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well as a team member.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and communication platforms such as Slack.
  • Experience managing outreach activities such as account creation, order entry, case and email facilitation within a CRM (preferably Salesforce).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision and to prioritize diverse work assignments.
Compensation & Benefits

At ITHAKA we believe in openness and equity. Part of living those values is our commitment to clarity about salary ranges, so candidates know what to expect. The starting salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $55,000 per year. Starting pay may vary with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Our total compensation package for benefits-eligible employees includes employer-paid medical, dental, and vision plans, an employer-paid 10% retirement contribution, paid parental and caregiver leave, 22 days of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, up to 12 sick days, gym reimbursement, and more.
