Job Role Summary




Manages the activities of the clinic staff for the Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program. Supervises clinic leads and staff. Assists with implementation and evaluation of nutrition education program within established federal, state and divisional guidelines and standards.




Associated Job Duties






  • Incorporate a Participant Centered Services (PCS) approach.

  • Daily contacts with program staff to exchange information.

  • Contacts with applicants and/or clients of WIC Program to handle complaints, resolve problems relative to program participation.

  • Regular contact with IS support.

  • Contact with community agencies and extend organizations to obtain/provide information and services.

  • Incumbent involved in routine decision making on program operations in accordance with federal, state, local and departmental policy and procedure.

  • Must keep up-to-date with changing federal and state guidelines; errors could result in substantial inconvenience to program participants.

  • Final decision-making authority for in-house problems in absence of Program Administrator.

  • Oversees all aspects of WIC clinics

  • Directly supervises CPA leads who in-turn supervise clinic staff.

  • Directly supervise staff in clinics where CPA leads are not implemented.





Qualifications






  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Public Health, nutrition, or business management. Must meet Competent Professional Authority education requirements.

  • Mandatory 3 - 5 years WIC experience with demonstrated ability in supervising professional and Paraprofessional staff

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Licenses/certification required: valid Indiana driver's license and access to a car.

  • Professional license/certification as appropriate.

  • Thorough knowledge of (or ability to learn) the WIC Supplemental Food Program.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Interpret and apply federal, state and local program policies and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
