What will you do?

The Technical Sales Migration Consultant (TSC) provides sales support throughout the sales cycle. This support is specific to the development of complex applications or solutions for our customer base.

The successful Candidate will work alongside our current SME as part of the on-boarding program.


  • Assists the pursuit team with identifying, qualifying, and quantifying new business opportunities to include competitor systems.

  • Assists pursuit team throughout the sales cycle with strategy, tactics and scope of pursuits.

  • Uses in-depth product and/ competitor industry knowledge to provide sales presentations and product demonstrations. May require coordination with Portfolio and Industry Marketing.

  • Applies industry, technical and company knowledge to identify and recommend integrated solutions, migration solutions, products, and services to support the company's accomplishment of business goals or technical needs, i.e. interprets client's requirements and translates them to a proposed solution. will include consultation and/or product capability assessment and validation with prospective users.

  • Participate in quote preparation, specification responses, and technical definition with the responsible individuals to include site system walkdowns and specific data collection.

  • May build a mini application based on client requirements to demonstrate the feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demos.

  • May convey requirements for product specifications and participate in the beta testing of company products, applications, or solutions.

  • Coordinates with Product Management and R&D personnel to update and test competitive migration solutions.


Job Essential Functions:

  • Develops and maintains knowledge of our Competitive Migration plug-in IO solutions.

  • Strong technical knowledge of competitor DCS Solutions.

  • Knows and is known within the organization and by key clients and often participates in key internal and external forums and societies.

  • Assists with the orientation and training of sales, proposals and service personnel in the unique problems and techniques of the product segment or industry.

  • Promotes company ability, reputation, products, systems, new techniques and other specialized technical knowledge throughout the particular industry, defining key differentiators of our competitive offerings

  • Writes and/or presents technical or industry solution papers.

  • Assists in the coordination of major projects.

  • Keeps abreast of competitor migration offerings that may require modifications and enhancements to our current Plug-in IO Module Migration offerings, working alongside Offer Management and development groups.

  • Aids in developing engineering solutions in the event there is no direct Plug-in IO module Migration for a specific vendor.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?


  • Candidate needs to have at least 5 years' experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), with the Foxboro family of offerings and competitor systems. Needs to be well versed on both the hardware and software aspects of a DCS. Strong operational or domain expertise in the major industries including Chemical, Petrochemical, Pulp & paper, Biofuels, and/or Refining sectors is a strong plus.

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Engineering. A graduate degree is considered a major plus. 10+ years of directly related experience .

  • Must be an expert in distributed control systems (DCS). Must have strong knowledge of the Foxboro product family.

  • Must be capable of Demonstrating the key differentiators/value statement of our Competitive Migration offerings with genuine passion and conviction, while managing the emotion of change with the customer.

  • Background in R&D or Development activities a major plus.

  • Experience with competitor products a major plus.
