A Field Technician is responsible for assisting in start-up commissioning, integration, emergency service and troubleshooting of Vertiv Switchgear and Busbar 480VAC/15KVAC electrical switchgear, including PDU, ATS, PDC, circuit breakers, protective relays, plc, meters and other automated devices as well as mechanical repairs and modifications under the direction of senior technicians. The FT is required to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate. The FT is also required to maintain continuous communication with CRC, Supervisor, and direct manager.
Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on electronic experience or field services is desired
Training in electrical theory and technologies. Experience and/or prior military service performing applicable job duties.
Familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals
Reading schematics and blueprints for power control, automation is desired.
Power distribution, AC/DC, Voltage Circuit Theory and practical troubleshooting skills is desired
Background in electrical power including low voltage through medium voltage and experience with most types of switchgear testing is a plus.
Experience with programming PLCs and HMIs is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude
High School Diploma or GED required
Standard computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Must have ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds
Valid driver's license is required

Provide accurate and timely reporting of time cards, expense reports, etc.
While performing duties of the above jobs, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell
The associate frequently is required to sit and climb or balance

Working Conditions:
Travel is required, Individual assignments are typically 3 to 5 weeks in duration
When on assignment, working schedules are typically 10-12 hours per day, 5-6 days per week, day, or night shift
This is a hands-on field, travel type position. The travel - up to 80% - could be national/international depending on site locations

The anticipated salary range for this role in the State of Washington is between $69,510 to $86,940 per year (based on a 40-hour work week)-salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
