RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, a Detroit MI-based automotive manufacturer who brings engineering, technology, and design together to create innovative vehicles, energy solutions, and in-vehicle services, seeks a Maintenance Supervisor.

Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for leading a group of Skilled employees to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes. This role requires you to consistently administer National and Local Agreement between the client and the United Auto Workers Union. Work is of a technical nature and requires you to use independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing Systems, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn new skills as well as influencing the development of manufacturing processes to support this historical and game-changing progression to electric and autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities:


  • Read and react to the manufacturing daily plan in the moment

  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

  • Drive accountability through people and processes which may require difficult conversations in a unionized environment

  • Conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of results

  • Recommends solutions to problems

  • Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions

  • Meets schedule and quality requirements

  • Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements







REQUIREMENTS:



  • 1 year of direct team supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal per diem group leader

  • Union experience is required

  • Manufacturing experience is ideal

  • Electrical, controls experience will translate well in paint shop for the site

  • Ability to manage change and navigate ambiguity

  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and work effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrate a high analytical ability to solve complex problems

  • Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints

  • Ability to coordinate, manage, address performance concerns, and lead people in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to solve complex problems and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage conflict and make decisions in ambiguous fast-paced environment

  • Basic computer proficiency (i.e. Microsoft Word, typing, email etc.)

  • Must be willing to work weekends and rotating shifts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Willingness to ask questions, take initiative and be resourceful

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, self-directed

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing Teams






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
