You Role:
The employee in this job participates in a variety of laboratory activities to support the Process Solutions Commercial business in the Burlington M Labâ„¢ Customer Collaboration Center. Work is performed using standard laboratory best practices, developing and following established procedures, policies, and applicable regulations. The employee will work autonomously to complete tasks within their scope, while applying their operational expertise to identify and implement process improvements. The employee will conduct diverse tasks in a fast-paced Customer-facing laboratory environment, including basic bioprocessing equipment setup, testing, and showcasing. Keen observational skills and clear communication is required. This position reports to the Laboratory Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain and operate process and pilot scale laboratory equipment and scientific instruments, including, but not limited to filtration holders, housings and skids, pumps, flow meters, pressure gauges, pH meters, spectrophotometers, viscometer, chromatography apparatuses, analytical balances, autoclaves, centrifuge and air compression testing equipment
Lead or oversee the performance and documentation of basic and enhanced equipment maintenance Coordinate with staff members and vendors as needed to resolve issues and to maintain equipment and instruments in good working order.
Communicate and ensure M lab policies to end users, lead orientation trainings as back up for Lab Manager
Diagnose, adjust and provide basic repair to equipment
Schedule and record preventative maintenance and calibration service
Understand and maintain proper safety standards in the laboratory
Operation and maintenance of mechanical tools
Operation of hoist, crane, forklift truck and pallet jack
Configure and test equipment prior to MSAT experiments and/or shipments to Field staff or Customers, working in partnership with engineer or scientist as needed
Execute certain types of tests on bioprocessing equipment or consumables, following defined protocols (written or verbal)
Conduct basic demos of Mobius single-use equipment (excluding SU Systems) Develop basic theoretical knowledge of 1-2 lab equipment
Maintain lab in a clean and organized fashion to keep it ready for use at all times.
Manage Demo equipment and Off-site Lab requests; track and secure the return
Process requests from other departments to secure equipment delivery and set up for Trade Shows, ensuring successful setup & showcase at event
Identify and drive efficiency projects for inventory of consumables, equipment, chemicals, critical spare parts, and tools
Place orders and track delivery of material, chemicals, and equipment according to department and Project schedules
Prepare basic chemical and biological solutions for use in experiments
Maintain and clean the Client Hub and ensure operation of digital tools
Lead creation or revision of controlled documents for the Laboratory
CAPEX support for laboratory manager on execution of the annual Capital Budget according to defined Workflow
Train and coach lab technician according to policies and procedures
EHS--, be part of risk analysis evaluation on space and equipment use and leading EHS walkaround rotations Participates in or leads risk assessments with lab users
Conduct general M Lab tours for internal groups (quarterly tours, EVA requests)
Potential for up to 10 % travel
Perform other duties as assigned
SFDC lab requests-manage off site shipment requests, follow up on closing out requests and SFDC documentation review projects

Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering and mathematics or business
2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment or in a scientific or industrial equipment maintenance role
or
Associate degree in science, technology, engineering and mathematics or business
4+ years of experience in laboratory environment or in a scientific or industrial equipment maintenance role
or
High school diploma or GED
5+ years of experience in laboratory environment or in a scientific or industrial equipment maintenance role
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years' relevant industrial experience working within in laboratory environment including maintaining and calibrating equipment and scientific instrumentation
Knowledge and understanding of laboratory terminology, good documentation and good laboratory practices.
Ability to understand and follow documented procedures
High mechanical competency
Knowledge of methods to prepare chemicals solutions, and media
Solid computer skills using Microsoft office
Ability to make mathematical computations
Proven written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and team work skills
Proven hands-on mechanical skills
Observation skills in discerning various procedures and variations while performing work
Ability to lift and move heavy items
