Job: Logistics Coordinator

Shift: Monday - Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm, OT possible on weeke

Location: Mars Petcare (Temple,TX)

This position currently plans the Site's dock schedule, interfaces with National Office, Production Planning and Customer Care representatives. This role also handles any type of customer or carrier issues for the site. The result should be quality pet food that meets or exceeds all quality specifications set by Mars Petcare in the amount and schedule indicated by business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform all customer care activities required of the plant.

Conduct daily conference calls.

Assist in special requests from the on-site Manager or National Office

Willing to actively address food safety and quality concerns

Process customer and replenishment orders for Production and Warehouse

Interaction with Customer Care, Transplace, carriers and other Mars sites

Primary contact for Carriers

Must be willing to work overtime as required.

Must be willing to take off hour phone calls for warehouse assistance.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Good math, reading, writing skills and attention to details.

Good communication skills

Ability to work weekends to process orders.

Good housekeeping skills and knowledge of GMP's.

Basic knowledge of personal computers.

Good problem-solving skills.

Ability and willingness to develop and manage self, demonstrate self-directed workgroup leadership and contribute to efficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimal supervision and a positive attitude.

Working knowledge of Red Prairie and Transplace

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications

Self-directed with organizational and time management skills

Leadership & Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to assess situations early and accurately to take effective and tactful action to correct and improve those situations. Successfully resolve conflicts by listening, sharing thoughts, focusing on situations not

people, and by helping to create a positive work climate and establishing a feeling of partnership. Facilitates efficient operation into the warehouse with a good understanding of the total pipeline.

Communication:

Ability to communicate effectively with team members both verbally and in written format. Seek feedback for improvement. Give feedback to associates on the team. Gain support from others for new ideas and recommendations. Ability to communicate effectively with the team. Relay important information to and from management to the shift and across areas of the plant

Analysis/Problem Assessment:

Recognize trends that may lead to problems. Identify cause and effect relationships. Aggressively seizes opportunities to improve results early but not prematurely. Facilitate change while maintaining a high level of productivity Set priorities with proper sense of urgency and importance. Develops creative ideas and takes innovative actions. Participate in setting strategy for the warehouse to ensure meeting or exceeding.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in site action circles and focus groups as appropriate. Trains other area associates in warehouse operations and logistics Other similar duties as assigned.
