POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Change Partner is responsible for creating and implementing change strategies and tools to support the adoption and sustainability of behavior, process, and technology changes. This position supports NMDP organizational change initiatives by assisting in planning, coordinating, and executing change management activities. This role involves working closely with project teams, stakeholders, and employees to ensure changes' successful adoption and implementation.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Support Change Management Plans


  • Apply a change management process and tools to support change adoption required by a project or operational initiative.
  • Assist in developing and executing change management plans and strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Change Partner to identify change impacts and prepare for implementation. Ensure the presence of success metrics and monitor change progress.

Stakeholder Engagement


  • Develop relationships with stakeholders and a working knowledge of existing business processes to understand their concerns and needs.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for change initiatives.
  • Anticipate and address any resistance from employees and stakeholders impacted by initiatives.

Change Impact Analysis


  • Conduct change impact assessments to identify areas affected by the change and evaluate the readiness of stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing mitigation strategies to address potential resistance or challenges.

Communication and Training


  • Coordinate with the communications and training teams to support change management needs throughout a project's lifecycle.
  • Develop or support communication materials, including emails and presentations to inform stakeholders about change initiatives.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and employees to assess the effectiveness of change management activities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Track and report on the progress of change initiatives, including metrics on adoption and engagement.

Risk Management


  • Identify potential risks and issues related to change initiatives and work with the Change Partner to develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Monitor and report on risk factors and escalate issues as needed.

Continuous Improvement


  • Participate in post-implementation reviews to evaluate the success of change initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement based on lessons learned and stakeholder feedback.

Support Change Management COE


  • Provide administrative and logistical support for change projects, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting outcomes.
  • Assist in coordinating change-related events and activities, such as workshops, town halls, and training sessions. Guide project leads as they plan for and ensure lasting change.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

  • Recognized and reputable change tools and methodologies.
  • Change strategies, behaviors, roles, language and culture.
  • Health care or medical research, design, innovation, and trends.

Ability to:


  • Influence others to educate on the need and value of change management
  • Manage or oversee the implementation of change strategies identified for a change or project
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and support others in the process.
  • Understand and address the concerns and needs of stakeholders.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and persistence in the face of challenges.
  • Work effectively with others to achieve common goals.
  • Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, both written and verbal.

Education and/or Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field. Upon evaluation, a combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in change management, project management or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)


  • Training and certification from recognized OCM certification organizations, such as Prosci, Kotter, or ACMP.
  • Knowledge of organizational behavior and the psychology of change, and the ability to apply this knowledge to drive successful change initiatives.
  • Proven strategic thinking skills with the ability to identify opportunities for change that support the organization's vision and mission.
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts in:

    • Mid-sized organizations (200-5,000 EEs)
    • Health care research or delivery nonprofit organizations.
