Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will work with other engineers and designers on various projects. The engineer will do the entire electrical package including but not limited to preliminary assessments, concept creation, Prefeasibility/ Feasibility design and Detail design phases. The engineer will participate on problem resolution, drawing and specification production as well as client accessibility. The Electrical engineer may work on several concurrent projects and, at times, may assist as a technical expert on a specialized design.

Your Role:


  • Prepare engineering documents and drawings following specifications, codes and regulations.
  • Typical drawings and documents include equipment specifications, MCCs, single line diagrams, grounding, area classification, equipment & instrument layouts, conduit & tray layouts, conduit & cable schedules, panel schedules, heat trace, lighting layout, wiring diagrams, control schematics, P&IDs, PLC diagrams and instrumentation.
  • Execute basic engineering calculations for cable and protection sizes.
  • Review vendor and manufacture drawings and specification.
  • Checking electrical package(s) prior to submittal.
  • Will work closely with and may oversee other team members within the discipline.
  • Coordinate deliverables with other disciplines and the project manager.

Qualifications:


  • Engineering required with approximately 15-24 years' experience.
  • Previous experience working for Mining, Oil &Gas or Industrial manufacturing will be a plus.
  • Experience working in heavy industrial environments required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Power Distribution, Electrical Rooms, MCCs, VFDs, Generation, Transmission, and heavy industrial power systems from low to high voltage.
  • Technical knowledge Instrumentation & Controls based on automatic process control system like PLC and/or DCS.
  • Ability to establish the computer-based instrument list and I/O schematics. Experience with P&IDs, PFDs, and specifying EI&C equipment required.
  • Technical knowledge of loops, interconnections, cable/cable conduit schedules, load lists, and electrical plans.
  • Familiar with the engineering and design process and project delivery for sustaining capital projects.
  • This includes front end engineering, cost estimates, gated reviews, detailed engineering, and construction support.
  • Ability to read/interpret specifications and construction drawings.
  • Experience in brown field and green field type work.
  • Pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up experience is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience with industrial codes and generally accepted governing EI&C codes and standards. Experience with MSHA/OSHA safety regulations preferred.
  • Experience with business development and commercial proposal writing. Proficiency with MS Office applications are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and driven to develop strong client relationship is required.
  • Candidate must be comfortable being client-facing and maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2023 or later.
  • Revit, and 3D Design software will be a plus.
  • Must have Knowledge in Excel and Word. Experience QA/QC drawings package.
  • Coordinates design work with related engineering disciplines.
  • Attend job and construction meetings and participate in the coordination of the work.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
