Job Description:

Fall River Health Service is looking for a restorative/transportation aide to assist with the implementation of Restorative Care Programs developed by the licensed therapist, Resident Care Manager, and Interdisciplinary Care Team. The restorative/transportation aide may also provide routine resident care duties delegated by the charge nurse to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident. Escort residents to appointments and outings. The restorative/transportation aide is responsible for assisting residents of the nursing home with safe and efficient transportation to and from medical appointments, activities, and other necessary outings. This role involves providing support to residents, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport, and maintaining the vehicle and equipment.

Responsibilities:
Exhibit behaviors that are consistent with the mission, philosophy, values, culture, and objectives of Fall River Health Services.
Follow the plan of care under the supervision of the Therapist, Resident Care Manager, or Charge nurse.
Observe records and report to the Resident Care Manager the residents reaction to treatment and any change in condition.
Performs transfers with residents, using recommended techniques as demonstrated by the Resident Care Manager to ensure the safety of the residents.
Ensure clean working environment in the restorative gym and after use of transportation vehicle.
Assist residents in boarding and alighting from transportation vehicles.
Ensure the safety of residents during transport and adhere to all relevant safety protocols.
Communicate with residents to provide reassurance and assistance as needed.
Monitor residents' well-being during transport and report any concerns to nursing staff.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of transportation vehicles.
Assist with the loading and unloading of any required medical equipment or personal items.
Collaborate/communicate with nursing and/or activity staff related to resident participation in appointments and outings.
Responsible for adjusting the work schedule to accommodate resident transportation needs according to the transportation calendar(s).
