Job Summary
In this internship, you will be a part of our dynamic Machine Learning team, working alongside experienced professionals to develop and implement real-world machine learning solutions using Microsoft's advanced tools and platforms.
Department Specific Responsibilities
Gains valuable experience in the entire machine learning lifecycle, from data preparation and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Aides university departments in optimizing their business operations, improve customer service, and reduce costs in order to improve the student experience on campus.
Assists with data acquisition, cleaning, and transformation.
Builds and trains machine learning models focusing on tasks like regression, classification, and forecasting.
Experiments with different algorithms and techniques to optimize model performance, analyzing results and providing insights.
Documents your work clearly and concisely, presenting findings and recommendations to the team.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
Prior working knowledge in statistics, data analysis, and coding
SKILLS
Required
Proficiency in computer systems, including standard Office software; advanced Excel and database skills
Proficient communication skills
Maintains a high degree of professionalism
Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills
Demonstrates a high commitment to quality
Demonstrates experience solving problems with independent thought
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
