Job Summary



Indiana University Communications and Marketing seeks a Web Strategist to develop and execute brand and enrollment marketing strategies to enhance the web presence for the Kelley School of Business, a top-ranked business school offering undergraduate, graduate, and executive education programs in Bloomington, Indianapolis, and online The Web Strategist is a member of the Kelley School's marketing team, which is part of IU's Web and Digital Strategy team. Led by the Executive Director of Web and Digital Strategy, the team guides the digital presence for the university, ensuring that it clearly communicates our stories, makes it easy to find information, and is accessible to anyone.


Department-Specific Responsibilities


  • Develops and executes a web strategy, in collaboration with the Executive Director of Web and Digital Strategy, Director of Digital Marketing, Director of Enrollment Marketing, and other stakeholders, that is informed by the school's brand and marketing strategies.

  • Defines, manages, and reports on Key Performing Indicators (KPIs) for the Kelley School of Business web presence, including program-specific KPIs; tracks and analyzes web performance metrics; and sets initial benchmarks for Kelley School of Business digital presence based on existing data and from industry standards.

  • Develops and maintains an editorial calendar for content updates to the homepage, program pages, key landing pages, and journeys, seeking input from stakeholders and ensuring timely publication.

  • Reviews and interprets analytics and behavioral data from the website, providing regular reports with actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Communicates performance metrics, trends, and progress toward KPIs with stakeholders.

  • Identifies and analyzes site performance issues and develops and implements strategies to address issues in collaboration with functional teams (designers, developers, content creators).

  • Independently develops and executes basic and increasingly more complex web strategies to advance marketing goals and objectives, including data collection, target market definition, market research, user research, and development of project timelines.

  • Responds to inquiries and requests from stakeholders and explains information regarding policies, procedures, user research, and best practices.

  • Manages relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, and acts as a collaborative resource in developing web strategies.

  • Regularly reviews and updates web performance metrics, identifying potential issues and opportunities to address and resolve with the team.

  • Plans and leads bi-weekly meetings for editorial/content planning and analytics review and monthly meetings with stakeholders to present reports on KPIs, trends, and strategic insights and discuss progress towards goals and any adjustments needed.

  • May participate in team-based planning to align strategies and deadlines across various concurrent projects and initiatives.

  • Maintains web performance metrics in the areas of accessibility and quality (fixing broken links and misspellings and managing redirects).

  • May provide guidance to interface and user experience designers and digital specialists.

General Responsibilities


  • Develops marketing and creative strategies to promote Indiana University through digital channels and increase exposure to a target audience.

  • Develops targeting and segmentation approach for digital marketing strategies.

  • Reviews and analyzes usage trends and effectiveness of digital marketing strategies, recommend and implement changes as necessary.

  • Works with other marketing and web teams to identify a target market and create a marketing campaign for digital technologies.

  • Regularly consults with staff, faculty, colleagues, departments, and/or other stakeholders to curate social media content to specific programs, goals, audiences, and objectives.

  • Ensures alignment with university mission, strategies, objectives, and brand guidelines across all digital marketing platforms and content.

  • Designs user experience interfaces to ensure consistent and engaging platforms.

  • May plan and develops integrated digital advertising schedules.

EDUCATION



Required



  • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field

Working Conditions / Demands



This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
