QUALITY CONTROL LABORATORY SUPERVISOR
Where will you work: Onsite - Carlsbad, New Mexico (PO Box 71 - 1361 Potash Mines Road - Carlsbad, NM 88220)
The Quality Control (QC) Laboratory Supervisor will oversee the operation of our Carlsbad QC Laboratory as well as the duties of the QC lab team to deliver high quality products to the end user.
The QC Lab Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the requirements of the PBU Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs. The incumbent will provide analytical and QC technical direction at the plant level and will provide quality support at the North America Business (NAB) level. The QC Lab Supervisor is responsible for making decisions and providing guidance at the site level on shipment release decisions in the event of product non-conformance.

What you'll do?
You will be part of an incredible team at the Carlsbad site supporting Production, Operations and Shipment of products.
Responsibilities include providing direction, technical knowledge, scheduling, training, development & mentoring, and task prioritization for QC Laboratory personnel who provide 24/7 coverage. Provide timecard approval and allocation of OT.
Review production and shipment quality data. Identify trends and communicate with Carlsbad operations, management, and NAB QA personnel for at risk quality items. Provide support for technical inquiries, customer requests, and development of product specifications relating to Carlsbad products.
Ensure Carlsbad QCL maintains compliance with the QA and QC Programs. Responsible for updating, reviewing, and creating all SOPs and documents and keeping them up to date per document control standards.
Accountable for ensuring calibration, SQC, maintenance, troubleshooting and training is performed on all laboratory instrumentation. A thorough understanding of the lab instruments is essential. XRD and ICP knowledge considered an important asset.
Ensure customers receive Certificate of Analysis for shipments in a timely manner.
Compile and monitor department annual and five-year capital budget. Submit triages for new projects. Ensure QC Lab instrumentation meets the needs of Operations forecast. Complete bid waiver and service requisitions including service contracts on QCL instrumentation. Coordinate and manage instrument and asset installation and repair/service.
Develop and maintain chemical and consumable supply matrix through inventory management and Maximo ordering.
Actively promote Mosaic's safety program. Responsible for ensuring all employees are working in a safe manner, following all safety programs and procedures, are compliant with site safety training, and working in compliance with all environmental and safety laws, regulations, and policies.
What you'll need:
Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
10 years industrial and lab experience preferred--a leadership role is highly preferred.
Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
