Our client is seeking a Java Developer in Remote opportunity.


Role Description


Seeking a mid-level Java developer with experience developing and implementing end-to-end distributed solutions in public cloud and on-prem platforms. This role will collaborate with architecture, platform, technology product, and business teams to deliver new products and enhancements to existing products that align with business initiatives and enterprise strategies.
• Design, develop and implement new solutions as well as enhancements and changes to existing products.
• Collaborate with architects, principal engineers, and senior developers on the design of new products and enhancements.
• Develop and maintain technical product documentation including software design diagrams (e.g., structure diagrams, behavioral diagrams).
• Contribute to maintaining the product backlog including elaborating on features/stories, identifying technical enablers, identifying nonfunctional requirements, participating in backlog refinement sessions, etc.
• Conduct peer design and code reviews providing guidance and direction on design and development practices.
• Prepare test data, conduct unit testing, and debug code.
• Identify technical impediments in design, development, operations and determine corrective action.
• Identify opportunities to mitigate risk and improve functionality, performance, and security.
• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot systems and applications post-implementation.
• Conduct research and analysis; make recommendations.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with business goals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, work across teams to develop and implement solutions and provide technical support and consultation.
• Work in cross-functional Agile / Scrum product development teams.
• Contribute to incident / problem root cause analysis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.


Skills & Requirements


• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related degree, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Experience and knowledge of software development practices including developing, testing, debugging, and implementing distributed applications and systems.
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages with specific emphasis on Java.
• Experience with Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE/JEE), Spring Framework, and Hibernate.
• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).
• Experience with web service, microservice, API development including REST and SOAP architecture patterns.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React.js, Vue.js, Node.js).
• Experience with relational database platforms (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2).
• Experience with developing and deploying applications to MS Azure or other public cloud platforms.
• Knowledge and experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced skill in systems, workflow, and procedural analysis.
• Advanced organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices.
• Ability to apply innovative approaches to solve technical design issues.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
• Experience with Agile software development practices.
• Ability to resolve conflicting requests and quickly adapt to changing requirements
• Experience with implementing APIs on the MuleSoft Anypoint platform.
• Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• Experience writing and evaluating user stories and acceptance criteria written in Gherkin to support Test-Driven and Behavior-Driven Development (TDD/BDD).
• Knowledge of financial/banking industry standards, open banking standards, regulations, and practices.
• Knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies, and procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 customization, configuration, development, deployment and usage
• Certifications: Java SE/EE Oracle Certified Professional, Azure Developer Associate
