Kforce's client, a Detroit MI-based automotive manufacturer who brings engineering, technology, and design together to create innovative vehicles, energy solutions, and in-vehicle services is seeking a Manufacturing Group Leader. As a Global Supply Chain Group Leader, you are responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment.
Essential Functions:
Participates in the training, developing and evaluating of hourly team members
Participates in the development of highly effective teams. Leads Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas
Meets or exceeds production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements
Maintains awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues
Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping
Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training)
Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements
Coach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities
Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management
Implements and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues
Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping
Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training)
REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
