The Employment Law and Investigations department at Publix provides a wide variety of services to Publix. The Employment Law Investigator will conduct in-depth investigations into associate-related complaints in every business area that Publix operates. Ideal candidates should have exceptional writing, analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
What you’ll do
investigate, conduct interviews, make recommendations, and draft reports for administrative charges of discrimination from current and former associates and customers, outside attorneys representing current or former associates with discrimination claims, and individual employment law litigation
investigate, conduct interviews, make recommendations, and respond to discharge reviews and formal complaints
represent Publix at unemployment compensation hearings
Bachelor's degree, or High School diploma (or its equivalent) with some college level coursework and at least four years’ experience in investigations, the management of people, or the field of human resources
must be at least 20 years of age and have a valid driver license
knowledge of Publix policy and procedures
knowledge of state specific unemployment compensation laws
knowledge of labor and employment law
knowledge of court related proceedings and documents for litigation purposes
working knowledge in a variety of computer software platforms
general knowledge of internal department functions
knowledge of project work methodology, as well as understanding of project management
proficient ability to exercise independent judgment
ability to multi-task
willingness and ability to work variable schedule and travel as needed
ability to deal with a variety of situations and confidential assignments
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related analytical field
two or more years’ experience in management of people or in the field of human resources, and experience handling advanced/complicated EEO law issues
