We are looking to add a driven Engineer to our team. This position performs a wide range of duties to analyze, develop and specify manufacturing processes including operational sequence, tooling, methods, equipment, and controls to efficiently meet quality and on-time delivery requirements of a variety of manufactured products. The engineer provides direct support for attainment of all key site metrics.

What will you do?

On any given day, your responsibilities would include:


  • Supporting new projects and business opportunities through review of customer drawings and documentation, establishment of appropriate shop floor documentation, establishment of processes, tooling, and procedures to produce the product in the most efficient way.
  • Supporting on-time delivery goals through real-time troubleshooting and resolution of daily production issues using root cause analysis and sound engineering principles.
  • Supporting OPEX and labor savings goals utilizing lean manufacturing methods and sound engineering principles to increase manufacturing efficiency, reduce cycle times and improve product yields.
  • Supporting quality goals and metrics through participation in cross functional non-conformance review and disposition teams, corrective and preventive action teams, returned goods team, and process improvement teams.
  • Supporting plant safety goals by understanding and identifying potential safety issues before they become a near miss or an accident, assisting in resolution of identified safety concerns, and participating in plant health and safety related training.
  • Providing technical assistance to manufacturing departments, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, and plant management.
  • Assisting plant management in the investigation, identification, quotation, and preparation of expense budgets for the addition, modification, or replacement of equipment related to the short and long-range needs of the business.
  • Keeping abreast of trends and improvements in the field of engineering and manufacturing through appropriate papers, publications, and outside affiliations. Advising other areas of the company concerning your own areas of expertise.
  • Working closely with all areas of the plant to assist in obtaining and maintaining site metrics and goals.

You are a great fit if you have the following:


  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in an applicable engineering field (manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, etc)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices, knowledgeable in machining processes, knowledgeable in plastic injection molding processes, and knowledgeable in good machine shop practices preferred
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment and measurement techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret documents relating to all phases of operation or manufacturing facility required
  • Ability to work independently, seeking assistance where needed, to complete assignments on time and document the results
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas, project details, and assignment status to groups of employees, customers, vendors of the organization, and upper management using verbal, written and visual presentation skill sets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Solidworks software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working well in a team-based environment
