Job Description:

OU HSC is one of only four comprehensive academic health centers in the nation with seven professional colleges. We are currently building world-class institutes for the treatment of diabetes and cancer. This position provides support to a laboratory or department by maintaining and sterilizing equipment, maintaining the stockroom, distributing equipment, maintaining the inventory, providing administrative assistance, and acting as a lead employee.   

 

Duties:



  • Equipment Maintenance. Maintains equipment and supplies. Ensures they are properly sterilized, stored, and in good condition. 


  • Sterilization. Sterilizes equipment.   


  • Stockroom Maintenance. Maintains the stockroom in a neat and orderly fashion. 


  • Equipment Distribution. Distributes equipment and technical supplies. May set up equipment or prepare solutions. 


  • Inventory Maintenance. Maintains records of inventory, requisitions, etc. Identifies needs for equipment and supplies. 


  • Administrative Assistance. Provides administrative assistance by answering phones, greeting visitors, running errands, etc. May provide information regarding clinic procedures, types of supplies typically used for equipment, etc. 


  • Lead Employee. Acts as a lead employee by training new employees, and reporting personnel issues to supervisor such as progress, deficiencies, and performance of other Technical Supply Clerks. Serves as a back-up employee, and provides assistance when needed.


  • As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Education:  High School diploma or GED, AND:



  • 12 months experience working in a laboratory, stock room, or closely related experience.

Skills:


  • Good organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Problem-solving skills 


Working Conditions: Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time.
