Job Description:

Join Facilities Management at the University of Oklahoma and be part of a team dedicated to meeting the University's ever-changing needs. Located within Facilities Management, the Access Control Department is responsible for maintaining the University’s campus security, including keys, cores, mechanical, and electrical door hardware and locks. The Access Control Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of employees who perform selection, installation, and repair and maintenance of access control devices, mechanical & electrical locks and door hardware, key cutting, as well as recombination of cores. 


Duties:



  • Assigns and schedules employees to various work locations based on schedule requirements and knowledge of the individual capabilities of employees.

  • Makes estimates for all types of work for which the access control and locksmith area is responsible.

  • Responsible for maintaining and creating master keyway records.

  • Gathers and/or disseminates a wide variety of information, including standard information about policies and procedures.

  • Supervises and evaluates employee assignments and schedules. Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating performance,

  • Assists in selection, procurement, and delivery of materials when necessary to assure no interruption of work in progress in emergency or other unusual situations.

  • Reviews drawings, plans, and schematics for new and renovation construction projects.

  • Provides leadership and training to ensure quality completion of work assignments. Coordinates with other departments and third-party vendors as necessary to accomplish smooth progress of work commitments.

  • Leads by example of and provides measures for proper safety procedures at all times.

  • Performs relative duties as assigned or as required to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

Required Education: High School diploma or GED, AND: 




  •  48 months of related experience, including 12 months of leadership experience.


Skills:



  • Uses tools or equipment with expertise acquired through extensive experience and/or specialized training

  • Reads and interprets complex written or printed materials, such as blueprints, building plans

  • Uses oral and written communication as required to train and direct others or give and explain complex instructions

  • Performs recordkeeping operations


Certifications:



  • Valid Oklahoma Drivers License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions. 

  • Holding heavy equipment.

  • Frequent lifting and carrying loads in excess of 50 lbs.

  • Regular exposure to safety hazards.

  • Regular exposure to odors and noise.

  • Regular exposure to extreme weather conditions.

  • Regular exposure to deadlines, interruptions, and pressure to meet productivity standards.

  • May be designated as an essential position during emergency closures. May be required to remain on campus overnight during weather or other emergencies.


Supervision: 7 Access Control Team Members
