Job Description:

WhatsApp is looking for a Social Manager to optimize and execute WhatsApp's social strategy within the Content Studio at Meta. This role will be responsible for leading strategic development and execution of social content across all of WhatsApp's platforms that support and build the WhatsApp brand in the eyes of its users and communities across the globe. WhatsApp's social content covers a broad range, from editorial series to product launches to social adaptations of integrated campaigns and talent/influencer partnerships. This individual will have proven experience in leading social content development for tech products or services, working with product marketing managers and marketing and communications teams. You will work with multiple internal teams (internal creative teams, communications, policy and consumer operations) as well as external vendors (e.g. creative, content and influencer agencies). You will focus on ensuring everything WhatsApp publishes on its social channels is aligned to the social strategy and platform best practices, as well as building external fame and visibility for our initiatives.The ideal individual for this role has a background in developing social-first editorial strategies and creative, a deep understanding of the cultural landscape, a unique tactic for problem-solving, collaborating cross-functionally, and developing content that sparks conversation.This person will also be expert at relationship building: open, tenacious, curious, and a champion for this program of work. Previous experience will have covered social content and multi-channel communications planning, using data to identify cultural insights and build compelling strategies for our community content.



Social Manager, WhatsApp Responsibilities:



  • Oversee and manage the execution of the social strategy and content in partnership with internal and external creative and content teams.

  • Ensure all social content is aligned to WhatsApp's global social strategy and best-in-class social campaigns, delivering creative and culturally impactful content and initiatives.

  • Partner with Brand Marketing, Insights, Analytics, Communications and Media Delivery teams to ensure all initiatives are grounded in a solid base of community understanding and structured to deliver data-driven results.

  • A champion of the WhatsApp brand and community making sure that our editorial agenda is protected and promoted.

  • An expert in understanding what works for WhatsApp users and its community, making sure that the content we develop has the greatest impact and resonance.

  • Analysis of community, media and market trends to inform strategic and creative development for content.





Minimum Qualifications:



  • 8+ years experience in marketing, branding or content creation for global brands.

  • An understanding and appreciation of the unique role WhatsApp plays across various geographies.

  • Hands-on experience developing and executing creative, innovative, integrated social content.

  • Experience collaborating within dynamic and matrixed organizations.

  • Thrive in a self-starter, fast-paced and changing environment.

  • Experience presenting to large audiences and to leadership stakeholders.

  • Experience with a creative sense and communication skills.





Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working in the tech industry and on product or feature launches for tech companies

  • Experience with crisis management and crisis response

  • Experience in social listening, building social performance recaps and community management

$145,000/year to $204,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits


Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
