SUMMARY



The Communications Specialist will provide communications support to our international government agency by effectively preparing and distributing an array of communications activities including meeting management, creating and executing communications strategies and handling marketing, copy and content, public relations and press releases relating to the RDF contract.


As a federal contractor, CNI is a drug-free workplace and adheres to the Federal Controlled Substance Act.



ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS



Must be able to pass a customer background check for access to facilities, equipment and property. This Homeland Security Investigation requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) status.



KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Writes stories and articles, conducts international policy research ensuring that the content is cleared appropriately.


Distributes emails and meeting notes in a timely manner and works with the project manager to update the internal team dashboard.


Assists with the coordination of division events as requested.


Provides meeting management support including development of agendas, presentation slides, meeting minutes and the identification of speakers and presenters,


Ensures that the latest information and resources available for website posters. Ensures they are posted in a timely manner.


Provides project support and helps develop, coordinate, track, update, and report on multiple project plans.


Maintains a document repository, coordinates multiple meetings and trainings, and being present for instant assistance to the project team.


Develops timelines and project plans as requested and meets deadlines as outlines in the project timeline.


Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.


Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.



JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES



Advanced knowledgeable in communication tools.


Skilled proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).


Excellent verbal and written communications skills.


Exceptional customer service skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees, including key management officials or their representatives.


Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.


Ability to communicate in a clear and persuasive manner.


Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.



LANGUAGE SKILLS



Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and or boards of directors.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS



Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



REASONING ABILITY



Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
