Physical Requirements | This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens. |
Shift | Primarily Monday through Friday (2:00pm to 10:30pm); may include every 4th to 6th weekend as well as holidays per departmental need. |
Job Summary | Kentucky Children’s Hospital – Provides Pharmaceutical Care to pediatric and obstetric patients in an inpatient hospital setting. Position is a mix of staffing and clinical components during evening hours. Contacts and confers with physicians and other practitioners to optimize drug therapy. Conducts pharmacokinetic monitoring, patient chart review, code/ECMO response and other clinical services as need. May precept PGY-2 pediatric specialty residents, PGY-1 pharmacy practice residents, and student pharmacists. Reviews, interprets, and verifies written and electronic orders to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed for admitted patients. Provides direction and supervision of technical staff and pharmacy interns, and confirms the quality and accuracy of dispensed products. Maintains inventory and records of narcotics and other forms of drugs. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum salary for this position will now be $114,697/year. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience. |
