Working lead person: responsible for overseeing efficient operation of assigned work related to machine repair, preventive maintenance, building maintenance, and/or project development. Essential functions of this position include assigning work priority, developing job plans, defining parts and materials and supervising department maintenance mechanics. Collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, the senior lead will prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Position also requires employee to work on call as needed to respond to issues that include power, water supply or other maintenance factors.
Responsibilities
Oversee the activities of the maintenance team members in order to ensure housekeeping, safety standards, and scheduling requirements meet the company standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP)
Maintain the discipline of employees under their scope of responsibility, in accordance with established rules and regulations, recommending disciplinary action to the Maintenance Manager
Follow through on work assignments given to shift crew, monitor progress and make task related decisions to meet quality and schedule requirements
Work with the Maintenance Manager to keep accurate records of repair work and preventative maintenance work on equipment throughout the shift
Keep records and communicate with MRO Buyer on spare parts used during the shift and repair items needed in order to make necessary inventory adjustments
Train employees as required. Evaluate skills and performance of employees and make appropriate recommendations for improvement to the Maintenance Manager. Ensure team members follow all safety practices
Make suggestions regarding improvements in shop methods, line efficiency, and waste reduction
Responsible for communication between maintenance manager, team leaders, and technicians, regarding work assignments and emergency repairs
Review work requests and work orders and update work orders to appropriate status
Monitor in progress work being completed to understand status of ongoing work, including delays and overruns
Promote and maintain safe work environment through compliance with plant safety program
Perform other duties as assigned
Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. Temperatures in the cooking area can exceed 80 degrees. Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots or overshoes, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Need to comply with Food Safety: GMP’s, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF and Quality requirements.

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ maintenance work experience in a manufacturing, production or operation environment or a combination of education and experience to successfully perform and carry out the essential duties of the job.
Knowledge of basic fluid power, industrial electricity, mechanical components, PLCs, welding, machining, robotics, pneumatics, etc.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices, plant operations and OSHA safety requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact, lead and motivate team members.
Be able to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.
Proficient with the following programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and maintenance work order system.
Knowledge of VFD’S Allen Bradly, Mitsubishi, Schneider
