Overview

Responsible for training, leading and supervising employees engaged in a variety of production tasks including the utilization of equipment and materials.



Responsibilities

Provide training to production employees on equipment operation and material handling, while effectively addressing and resolving minor conflicts or production challenges in line with established protocols and escalating complex issues to higher management when necessary.

· Tends to production line by watching for equipment malfunctions or product defects, loading raw materials into equipment, unloading work in progress or finished product and moving materials to and from the equipment.

· Oversee waste collection and tracking on all production lines to ensure compliance with waste management practices.

· Monitor waste levels and trends to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.

· Supervise and train inspectors on waste identification and segregation processes to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.

· Oversees product inspection and ensures all raw material and finished goods are within specification.

· Implement waste work stop authority to address any issues or discrepancies in waste management procedures.

· Collaborate with Red Coats and waste room personnel to streamline waste handling operations and optimize efficiency.

· Ensures ingredients, lot numbers and date codes are correct for each product run on the line.

· Works with supervisors and other leads to ensure production schedules and KPI’s are met.

· Works with warehouse personnel to ensure that supplies and materials are flowing to the production area to meet the established production schedule.

· Provides back up to all positions in the production area, including startup and running of equipment.

· Performs general housekeeping duties in production area and duties as assigned; maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with existing policy.

· Complies with organization policies including, but not limited to, safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and employment and work rules.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Employee Safety Responsibilities:

· Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and horseplay

· Use proper lifting techniques

· Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift)

· Use personal assistance (buddy)

· Use handrails

· Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Need to comply with Food Safety: GMP’S, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and Quality requirements.



Qualifications

Prefer High School Diploma/GED

· Be able to work in a fast-paced environment

· Minimum of 1 year of experience in food manufacturing environment or equivalent type of manufacturing

· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written

· Reliable
