The Standard seeks a talented Actuary to drive new product development and pricing initiatives within our Stable Asset Fund (SAF) business, as well as creating process efficiencies and driving continuous improvement in pricing and risk management techniques. This individual will lead and develop a small actuarial team supporting SAF institutional FHLB operations.

Job Summary:

  • Oversee Inforce management including rate setting, profitability assessment, and spread margin analytics.
  • Lead pricing and product development (traditional stable value applications as well as new and adjacent markets), actively engaging with internal stakeholders across the organization.
  • Partner with corporate ALM team on portfolio optimization and strategic asset allocation initiatives.
  • Manage ongoing operational needs of FHLB institutional spread businesses including investment acquisition, risk analysis, and financial reporting.

Skills and Background You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related field (required)
  • 5 – 10 years progressively responsible actuarial experience (required)
  • FSA designation (required)
  • Deep experience with retail or institutional spread-based insurance products
  • Knowledge of asset-liability management techniques and investment strategies
  • Strong actuarial modeling software experience, preferably GGY Axis
  • Advanced Excel (required), Python, Tableau or Power BI or similar experience preferred.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$123,500.00 - $197,500.00
