What does a Trust Associate at CNB do?

A Trust Associate is responsible for providing premium customer service to our CNB Wealth Management and Trust Services clients. This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of client accounts including funds transfers, client service and on-going communication. Coordinates both internally and externally to ensure tax related documentation is completed as required. Routinely respond to client inquiries and must have preliminary knowledge of trust, investment, and estate planning concepts. Anticipates client and officer needs in all situations, researches and resolves moderate problems and escalates all items of concern to the Trust Officer.

What competencies are needed to be successful in this role?

  • As associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in related position.
  • Preliminary knowledge of trust, investment, and estate planning concepts preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior client relationship skills.
  • Strong Microsoft proficiency.

What does a successful first year in this position look like?

  • Provides assistance and direction to Trust Officers and customers with account administration activities and business operations.
  • Responds directly to inquiries and requests from customers, outside money managers, Trust Officers, tax preparers, and/or attorney.
  • Proactively monitors the resolution of client service issues. In absence of the Trust Officer, acts as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Performs Customer Service-related tasks including but not limited to new account set-up, closing accounts, deposits/disbursements, account status changes, and documenting cost basis and acquisition dates for assets.
  • Support Trust Officers by preparing correspondence, reviewing daily cash reports for liquidity needs and overdraft activity, executing daily alerts, tasks, and notifications, scanning and organizing reports, correspondence, forms, and other client and department information.
  • Assists in new account review process and/or annual account review process which includes Regulation 9 and Client Risk assessments.
  • Identifies business development opportunities within client portfolio to assist with attaining cross departmental referrals from clients, centers of influence and Business Partners from other affiliates.
  • Ensures compliance and customer satisfaction are met at the highest standards of the organization.
  • Assist with all aspects of operating the Finger Lakes Area Community Endowment (FLACE), such as account opening, closing, and processing contributions and distribution requests.
  • Works closely with the FLACE Administrator, Trust Officer, and other business partners to support FLACE’s mission.

Compensation range- $20.00 - $23.00
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
