Position Description:

The Motus Technology team is looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, motivated engineer to join our development team. Our server applications use Docker, Java, and PostgreSQL to provide a scalable, flexible microservice architecture that support our web clients, native mobile applications, and public-facing REST APIs.

To be successful in this role you must be customer-focused, results-oriented, have a positive attitude, and a strong desire to solve problems.

Position Duties:

• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, developers, and architects in conceptualizing and developing new software applications and improvements

• Provide feedback on defining software development project plans, including scoping, estimating, scheduling, and implementation

• Explore the use of emerging application development software products, libraries, and standards in support of new product development efforts

• Write and maintain clear and concise documentation of new and existing systems

• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades

• Defines technical requirements based on business requirements

• Conducts code evaluations

• Participates in setting team standards and best practices

• Research new technologies, fix bugs, implement prototypes, and develop core functionalities

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree with significant programming coursework preferred

• 1-2 years of experience with demonstrated proficiency in software development

• Experience creating mobile applications

• Experience with Kotlin or Swift

• A basic understanding of REST API protocols

• A strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts is a plus

• Thrive in a fast-paced, agile work environment

• Be a problem-solver and eager to take ownership of issues and resolve them

• Be excited to learn new technologies, new ways of writing software, and supporting software in a high-volume production environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote work environment

Where required by law, Motus provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The pay range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidates relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and AD&D insurance, short-and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and additional voluntary or legally required benefits.
