Essential Duties: 



  • Customer focused, with a deep understanding of clients’ goals and objectives and ways marketing and communications can support that work.

  • Communicates effectively, including with both the client and internal team to ensure deliverables meet expectations.

  • Responsible for anticipation of client needs and an understanding of marketing and communication tactics that will help their clients be successful.

  • Leads others in brainstorming, strategy, content creation, community management, reporting, and analysis, and delivers recommendations and smart counsel on a daily basis.

  • Conducts client surveys to gather feedback and create action items.

  • Proactively plans, implements, and manages all aspects of assigned account activities.

  • Prepares, tracks, and manages scopes of work, timelines and project briefs.

  • Assists in the formulation, interpretation, and evaluation of policies and procedures.

  • May supervises staff, to include but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating performance and disciplining.

  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.


Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field, AND:



  • 48 months in marketing, public relations, communications or related experience.


Equivalency Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months related experience.

Certifications:




  •  None 



Advertised Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to communicate effectively and sit for prolonged periods.

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions.  

  • Use of a computer.

  • Standard Office Environment.

  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.  

  • Requires contact with other departments and University officials.


Department Preferences:



  • Bachelor's degree in strategic communications or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge, skill, and understanding of position requirements.

  • 3-5 years of customer service experience, including time spent in direct account/client management. 

  • Professional agency experience
