The department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Clinical Research Coordinator 2 to work at UHealth Boca Raton. The Clinical Research Coordinator 2 serves as a mid-level clinical research professional that assists in the planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating of specific clinical research studies. This role assists in the day-to-day operations of clinical research protocol implementation and carries out study coordination duties from protocol initiation to study close-out according to regulatory/sponsor guidelines. The incumbent works closely with study team members and other staff/faculty/study sites to ensure study participant safety and adherence to approved protocols, help with study-related administrative tasks, facilitate across-the-board flow of information, and coordinate study activities and personnel.




  • Help supervise Research Coordinators and Research Assistants


  • Help establish and implement Standard Operating Procedures


  • Conduct rating scales for contract clinical studies


  • Advise on technical procedures, techniques and equipment


  • Maintains quality checks on laboratory safety and ensures maintenance of facilities


  • Establish liaisons with College of Medicine, and other colleges of FAU that may include: Research Nurses, Research Pharmacists, Program Managers, Medical Technicians, Clinical Information Systems, Regulatory Services such as IRB and selective departments.


  • Have recruitment responsibilities which includes assisting in the development of recruitment strategies and promotional materials as well as the screening of potential patients/subjects for eligibility to the study. This may also include gathering information from the medical record, physician.


  • Referral, advertisement and directly scheduling a visit to evaluate the patient/subject.


  • Demonstrates critical judgment to maintain the integrity of the research protocol without compromising patient safety.


  • Demonstrates appropriate skills relating to the execution of research protocols, such as determining eligibility, exclusion criteria, identifying need for modifications and adverse responses.


  • Assists in the preparation of NIH and IRB applications. Assists with the informed consent process and ensure that the patient/subject fully understands what is required of them throughout the study.


  • Creates and maintains participant charts and coordinates participant appointments. Collects, organizes and maintains source documentation. Ensures protocol is being followed as approved by the IRB.


  • Participates in research activities by assisting in the collection of data, initiating research under supervision as appropriate.


  • Interacts with patient/subject and families in a courteous and professional manner. Be consistent and regularly follow through with your patients/subjects reminding them of visits and compliance. Extend this courteous and professional manner to faculty and staff within the College of Medicine.

Minimum Qualifications





  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field


  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
