Overview
As a Safety Intern, you'll assist with facilitation of the company's safety program. You'll learn about safety management in office settings, construction services, engineering, inspections and other disciplines. The safety intern reports to the director of safety.
This internship is flexible to remote candidates. The position is part-time (hours can be negotiated) and is considered temporary for the summer 2024 season.
Pay range is between $18-$24 per hour dependent on candidate education and experience.
Responsibilities
Reporting and tracking of orientations, training, audits, incident reports, accident investigations, and other related documents, as well as recordkeeping of related documents.
Responsible for liaising with the safety personnel for investigations, medical and various other reports.
Order safety supplies and coordinate safety events as required.
Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries.
Understand the process for submitting invoices, reports, memos, letters and financial statements using word processing, spreadsheet, database and/or other presentation software such as Microsoft Office.
Conduct other duties as required, which may include special project assistance and administrative (non-safety) duties (filing, answering phones, assisting with business related projects or tasks).
Qualifications
Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related major, from an ABET accredited University.
This office job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise.
While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include constant sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over to 35 lbs.
