Job Description:

The Service Writer is responsible for providing support to the Service Manager, Service Team, and customers. Responsibilities include sending out seasonal work packets to all members, creating detailed work orders for all services, creating estimates for seasonal work and as needed, assisting the parts manager in identifying correct parts needed for jobs, reviewing timecards daily, scheduling work with all department managers, following up with customers to provide status updates, review all jobs once complete to ensure completion of work is satisfactory, and assisting department managers as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide support to Service Manager, Service Team, and customers
Provide clear and precise instructions on the work order for technicians
Estimate and schedule all required work
Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely manner
Continuously meets ongoing company goals
Available to work overtime when required to meet deadlines
Other duties as assigned by Manager


Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.


Technical and Physical Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years prior service marina experience
ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift 20 pounds
