Job Description:

Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Senior Women’s and Maternal/Child Health Consultant to join our Women’s and Maternal/Child Health (WMCH) department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Rockville, MD with a hybrid work model.

Reporting to the Associate Medical Director of Women’s and Maternal/Child Health, the Senior Women’s and Maternal/Child Health Consultant will provide consultative support to the Delivery Systems Operations of the Women’s and Maternal/Child health (WMCH) programs objectives and goals. You will oversee the development, planning, implementation, measurement, analysis and evaluation of assigned evidence-based Women’s and Maternal/Child health (WMCH) programs in accordance with established standards and guidelines to support physicians and improve health outcomes for women and infants in our community.



You can expect to:

  • Develop educational training materials for health promotion courses and facilitate Continuing Medical Education (CME) trainings to physicians on WMCH topics
  • Oversee development, planning, and implementation of WMCH health programs and initiatives including cervical cancer screening and treatment, comprehensive perinatal program, chlamydia screening, timely prenatal and postpartum care, newborn care center (includes lactation support), family planning, optimizing prenatal visit care pathways, maternal vaccinations, intimate partner violence prevention, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders screening and referral
  • Provide regulatory reporting to MAPMG Quality and Care Management team members to evaluate the success of the WMCH programs
  • Partner with the Associate Medical Director, Ob-Gyn Service Chiefs, Pediatric service chiefs, and other key stakeholders to identity areas of improvement and develop action plans


What is required:
  • Master’s Degree in Health Education, Health Promotion, Public Health, Nursing, or related health field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in program management, development, implementation, and measurement with a proven track record of quality improvement.
  • Nursing experience preferred
  • Possesses knowledge of health issues impacting female (including perinatal) and neonatal/infant population
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities
  • Must be able to commute to Mid-Atlantic States Kaiser Permanente medical centers at least once per week
  • Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
  • Must provide proof of COVID booster vaccine (released in September 2023) and influenza vaccine as a condition of employment
