Responsibilities




Position summary



The CAD Programmer Technician will be responsible for generating and controlling programs for production equipment using CAD/CAM software. Provide support to the technical staff during all phases of the product cycle from quoting to production.



Essential Job Functions

  • Provide technical assistance to estimating for quotation purposes regarding machining operations
  • Evaluate programmability for machining operations
  • Utilize CAD/CAM to generate program files
  • Establish and maintain required programming files, directories, and security
  • Program control from "cradle to grave", revision control, and archiving
  • Ensure posts are in proper order to generate CNC code
  • Troubleshoot programs as necessary until a capable process yields an acceptable first piece that meets print/customer specification
  • Ensure the process yields an acceptable first piece that meets the quoted setup and rate. If not, either independently or alongside Engineering, troubleshoot as necessary until a capable process yields an acceptable first piece that meets the existing quote. .
  • Support CAPA investigations related to customer complaints





Qualifications




Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience


  • Associates degree or equivalent demonstrated technical experience
  • Two years-experience with CAD/CAM required
  • Proficient with a 3D CAD system (PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or other 3D CAD system)
  • Proficient with a CAM system (PTC Creo Manufacturing, Esprit, PartMaker, GibbsCAM, MasterCAM or other CAM system)
  • Knowledgeable with fixture and tool design
  • Advanced blueprint reading capabilities with knowledge of GD&T principals
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills




Desirable Criteria & Qualifications


  • Associates Degree in a technical field
  • Experience with Manufacturing ERP systems
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks preferred
