You will be a key member of Medtronic's center-led Indirect Supply Management (ISM) team responsible for managing and influencing ~$200M in annual spend in the HR and Professional Services categories. This is a global role, with the vast majority of spend concentrated in the Americas; you will partner with stakeholders across Functions, Regions, and Businesses to drive value. Reporting to the Indirect Supply Management (ISM) leader for this category you will bring your strong business acumen to choose the right supplier, the right type of engagement model and put in place contracts that will protect Medtronic's interests. A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Create value across ~$200M in annual spend incurred in the HR and Professional Services categories
  • Identify strategic sourcing opportunities
  • Best-in-class communication and analytical skills
  • Work independently and build strategic relationships with internal stakeholders, Legal and suppliers
  • Lead RF(x) events to drive competitive financials and ensuring maximum value is realized
  • Provide stakeholders with a balanced view of contract risk and liabilities
  • Gather Market Intelligence and trends for relevant categories and associated sub-categories
  • Create and establish internal and external benchmark analysis
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have


  • Master's degree
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, economics, law, or equivalent
  • Understanding of the HR and Professional Service Categories and Service Provider landscape
  • Experience working in a large multi-divisional corporation
  • Global Category Management experience (Strategy Development and Execution in accordance to Strategic Sourcing methodology)
  • Demonstrated leadership, customer service, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, and organizational skills
  • Influencing and leading internal teams and external suppliers to deliver results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong program management skills
  • Legal acumen
  • Positive and energetic team player with strong cross-functional team experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
