1. SUMMARY:
The Vice President is responsible for supervising remote staff and overseeing daily operations performed by the Credit Administration Unit. The functions carried out provide the Unit Head with supervisory support over staff, performance evaluations, as well as, assistance with the development and implementation of business plans, policies and procedures, direct participation during audits and designated special projects.
2. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(1) General Duties
Support and provide guidance to staff performing middle office functions.
Set goals and conduct performance evaluation of remote staff.
Review and approve operational processes administered by CAU staff.
Provide Loan Administration Unit (LAU) and other Mizuho units with a contact point to discuss open issues and provide guidance for all operations related to CAU activities.
Manage all Risk and Control functions for CAU.
Proactively enhance loan controls as needed to insure data is properly booked and reported in all systems.
Automate and streamline controls to mitigate risk and improve efficiency
Ensure that all processes related to middle office functions associated with daily transactions are completed in a timely manner.
Maintain / generate / review / approve reports to ABOD management, H.O. and other divisions as required.
Conduct reviews of our back-up site for business continuity efforts and assist with maintaining all documentation related to CAU business continuity plan (i.e. business impact, risk assessment, etc.).
Train and cross train staff in CAU to optimize resources.
(2) Exception Duties (As requested by Unit Head)
Provide the Unit Head with periodical status reports of all operating activities of CAU.
Provide the Unit Head with the development and implementation of business plans, objectives, policies and procedures through the presentation of constructive and innovative ideas for new methods within established framework.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
(3) Compliance
Obtain a basic understanding of the applicable rules and regulations that govern the Bank. Understand that all questions and/or clarification about such rules and regulations should be directed to the Americas Legal and Compliance Department. Attend Annual Compliance Training presented by the Americas Legal and Compliance Department. Read and respond as necessary to all compliance-related reference and directive materials received. Comply with the Bank’s “Code of Conduct”.
3. Qualifications:
BA or minimum of ten years relevant commercial loan experience.
Ability to deal effectively with Customers, Account Officers and other bank personnel.
Must be detailed oriented, possess leadership, organizational and communication skills.
Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Word and Excel).
Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment and a team oriented person.
The expected base salary ranges from $100,000 - $150,000 . Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
