Summary of Role:
The overall objective of the EHS&S Emergency Response Team (ERT) Specialist is to promote a strong emergency response culture by providing ERT expertise and ensuring that management systems are established and effectively used to maintain compliance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt in a fast paced, changing environment, possess strong organizational skills with the ability to build professional relationships with numerous inter-dependent teams of different disciplines.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with ERT training preparation and support/logistics, including scheduling, tracking, documentation
Assist with ERT call response and support for medical (EMT), Hazmat, Fire Brigade, Confined Space Rescue
Conduct inspections and inventory checks of buildings, rooms, equipment, AEDs (automated external defibrillator), fire extinguishers and vehicles
Ensure call readiness by restocking required equipment/supplies in ERT rooms, trucks, and trailers
Maintain equipment for hazmat, confined space and technical rescue, fire brigade and EMS
Assist with tracking and trending of calls, meetings, member status, and equipment use
Work with vendors to order new supplies and equipment
Assist with respirator fit testing, cylinder refills, Level A suit inflation testing, annual hose & ladder testing and driver qualification process
Work with the site to drive and facilitate a strong safety culture
Manage and assist with the development and implementation of site-specific safety procedures and programs as assigned
Work with teams on hazard identification, evaluation, control and provide appropriate risk mitigation strategies
Educate site personnel on ERT requirements and standards as needed
Respond to Permit to Work Request
Ability to acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of site-specific hazards and response procedures
Provides coaching to all employees to maintain safety excellence at the facility
Participate in EHS self-assessment and/or audits
Provide technical assistance and guidance to site population
Facilitate coordination of completion of ERT documentation in a timely fashion
Assist with the preparation for, completion and coordination of site audits (VPP, Management Systems, etc.)
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Periodic regional travel may be required
Perform additional work activities as directed by EHS&S Management.

1-5 years of relevant experience within the emergency response profession
Strong customer service and communication skills
Join/support the Fab 8 hazmat, fire brigade, and confined space rescue teams
Responsibilities will be physically demanding and hands-on at times
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point applications; able to use Outlook email, sheets, forms, docs, and slides
Ability to wear Respiratory Protection and HAZMAT Response equipment for extended periods of time in adverse conditions - Must be clean shaven
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety or Health, Emergency Management or closely related degree or equivalent military
Thorough working understanding of OSHA 1910 standards and regulations
Prior Semiconductor experience preferred
Certified NYS EMT-B or greater
Experience in HAZMAT and Fire Emergency Response
Expected Salary Range
$40,600.00 - $72,000.00
The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
