SUMMARY


Bering Global Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified HAZMAT Technician for the Base Supply Services contract on Hurlburt Field, FL. Unless otherwise noted in the statement of work, all paragraphs in Air Force Instruction 23-101, Air Force Manual 23-122 and Air Force Instruction 32-7086 relating to assigned functional area are binding contractual services and required employee duties. This position is directly related to the management and operation of the Hurlburt Field HAZMART. Work generally involves individual case problems or supply programs. Assignments require: (1) a good working knowledge of governing supply systems, programs, policies, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; (2) an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced and that HAZMAT assets purchased are in practical quantities to minimize waste, handling and storage costs. P ersonnel may be assigned other duties in response to a wide array of operational situations as they arise. Responsible for work center cleanliness. A 90-day probationary period is mandatory.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

• Manage the receipt, storage, issue, inspection and distribution of HAZMAT and transport HAZMAT from central receiving.

• Establish and manage a free issue, reuse and redistribution program for HAZMAT.

• Perform quality control to ensure assets are properly identified as HAZMAT to prevent inadvertent procurement or issue transactions for unauthorized materials.

• Maintains either an electronic or hard copy of all completed AF Form 3952s.

• Maintains existing low-level radioactive storage facility and coordinates disposition of radioactive material with the base radiation safety officer.

• Ensures any MSDSs received that are not in the EESOH-MIS inventory are forwarded for inclusion into the primary MSDS database.

• Work within a framework of established supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other governing supply management guidelines.

• Coordinate with internal and external customers concerning program/customer requirements.

• Responsible for using the Enterprise Supply-Solutions, and Enterprise Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) or other software to accomplish operations.

• Participate as a member of the installation Hazardous Materiel (HAZMAT) Management Process (HMMP) team.

• Accountable for meeting contract requirements, company policies and procedures and safety performance standards in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety regulations.

• Responsible for prompt reporting of accidents/incidents, injuries, and hazardous situations and violations immediately to the Project Manager or Material Coordinator Lead.

• Performs duties as primary Facility Manager for the HAZMAT buildings.



QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications


• A security clearance commensurate with property handled or computer systems accessed.

• Minimum of 10 years Air Force Standard Base Supply related experience.

• Minimum of 5 years Air Force Hazardous Material Pharmacy experience.

• High School graduate or equivalent

• Must be able to operate material handling equipment.

• Must possess valid state driver's license.

• Current Haz-waste Training/Enterprise Environmental, Safety & Occupational Health Training/Hazardous Material Information System and Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasures Plan Training. If not current, must be completed within first 30 days of probationary work .



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient in interpreting data and supply management historical information
• Proficient in use of Integrated Logistics Systems-Supply (ILS-S) , AF Logistics, Installations and Mission Support-Enterprise View (LIMS-EV and/or other Automated Individual Equipment Systems

Preferred


• Associates Degree in Material Management

• Skilled in Microsoft suite of programs.

Ability to maneuver around warehouse sites; sees, hears, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, squatting, stretching, and bending for prolonged periods of time. At times lift and carry as much as 35 pounds. Visual acuity to review written documentation and ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels.



DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS


• This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT


Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Additional working conditions are indoor climatically controlled office workplace, warehouse and outdoor environments.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


• No supervisory responsibilities.



ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS


As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
