Senior Accountant - Real Estate Development

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA
Client: Real Estate Development Company (in partnership with Ledgent, a Roth Staffing Company)
Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000/year

Ledgent is excited to partner with a well-established Real Estate Development firm in Rancho Cordova to find their next Senior Accountant! This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant ready to step into a Senior role-or for a seasoned Senior Accountant seeking more work-life balance without sacrificing professional growth.



About the Role:



In this role, you'll play a critical part in the accounting operations of a thriving development company. You'll collaborate with a small but mighty team to ensure accurate financial reporting, project accounting, and contribute to the overall financial strategy of the business.



Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports


• Manage project cost accounting including cost vs. actual tracking


• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements


• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis


• Support external audits and ensure compliance with internal policies


• Help streamline accounting processes and improve financial systems


• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to provide financial insights


• Mentor junior team members and support the accounting leadership

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 
  4+ years of accounting experience, ideally as a Staff Accountant, ready for the next step


• OR currently a Senior Accountant seeking a healthy work-life balance


• Background in Real Estate Development, Construction, or Property Management preferred


• Strong understanding of cost vs. actuals accounting


• Excellent skills in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)


• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (strongly preferred)


• Team-oriented, detail-focused, and communicates with professional acumen


• CPA not required
