Senior API Engineer at Horizontal Talent in Greenwood Village, Colorado

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Senior API Engineer to join our team on a remote basis for a 3-6 month contract with the potential for a right to hire. If you are a self-starter with a passion for cloud-native API development and a strong background in AWS, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities

• Lead complex initiatives and design scalable solutions
• Develop cloud-native API applications using Node.js and serverless technologies
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD solutions
• Build microservices and RESTful services
• Ensure robust security, networking, and scaling of applications
• Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders

Skills

• Proven experience with TypeScript and Node.js
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, and SQS
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of networking and security concepts including DNS, Load Balancers, and Firewalls
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and share knowledge with the team

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS Fargate, ECS, CloudWatch, S3, and DataDog
• Background in large-scale real-time stream/event processing systems
• Prior experience with customer experience APIs and websites
