Execute turnkey projects ranging from single, stand-alone machine turnkeys to multi-machine, multi-million-dollar turnkey systems. This position focuses on the execution of the turnkey projects with significant hands-on experience with the implementation of the machining process on the Makino CNC Machining Centers. Communicate with the Project Manager and/or Site Coordinator on project activities. This position does require travel to customer sites sometimes up to 75% during a project.
What will I be doing:
Prepare Machine for Project @ Makino
Prepare CNC Equipment and Area for Turnkey Implementation
Layout machine cell area for an efficient implementation of the machining process
Confirm Makino machine setup
Charge machine with coolant and verify machine grid shifts
Setup Cutting Tools
Assembly, preset and inventory all cutting tools
Implement Machining Process @ Makino
Dial-in Machining Process
Interpret inspection results and make necessary adjustments
Perform Machining Process Runoff
Conduct all machine operations to machine parts
Execute small batch "mini-runs" to verify process repeatability
Perform final system process runoffs
Prepare Machining Process for Approval & Shipment
Conduct cell teardown. (Remove tools, fixtures, and clean machine)
Label and pack tools
Verify Part Quality @ Makino
Verify Parts Meet Inspection Requirements
Inspect parts using manual gages
Evaluate inspection data
Conduct a Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility Study
Analyze Gage R&R data
Customer Interaction Requirements
Provide technical status updates (Presenting process data or discussing issues on the issue list.)
Provide/review Engineering Service Reports. (Done weekly to track progress)
Tasks @ Customers
Duplicate or validate the following tasks performed @ Makino. These tasks apply to the machine runoff at Makino and additional machines that are installed and runoff only at the customer's facility.
Confirm Makino machine setups for machines installed only at the customer
Charge machine with coolant and verify machine grid shifts
Setup additional cutting tools and fixtures
Dial-in machining process
Perform machining process runoff
Verify parts meet inspection requirements
Present runoff data to Project Management and Customers
Validate cycle time on all machines
Complete customer machine operation and process training. (Create a list of who, when, and what.)
Coordinate with customer resources on the installation and setup of the Makino machining centers and machining process
Finalize Turnkey Project
At each project's completion, the following tasks are required
Capture a full back-up of all machines in the cell. (Parameters, settings, CNC programs.)
Compile final documentation to be delivered to the customer. (Tool drawings, Fixture drawings, Offset adjustments, etc.)

What are the education requirements?
Preferred post-secondary education and/or tech school. Experience in a co-op, internship, full/part-time job in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
