The Maintenance Lead will provide strong mechanical and electrical support to the maintenance team, is responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, machinery, and facilities to help ensure that operations schedules are meet in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Functions
They will assign work and provide training to technicians as well as provide feedback to management.
They will ensure that SOPs are followed, report out root cause analysis and corrective action and work with other support personal Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (e.g., mechanical drive components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, VFDs, contractors, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives).
Perform preventive and/or predictive maintenance on all plant equipment.
Perform building maintenance and repairs (e.g., HVAC, cooling systems, lights, powered industrial trucks, floor scrubbers, plumbing).
Perform temporary repairs on equipment to prevent long-term downtime until permanent repairs can be completed.
Proactively coordinate maintenance activities with Operations/Food Safety departments and provide clear status updates at appropriate intervals.
Ensure maintenance areas are clean and orderly.
Ensure proper cleanup after completed maintenance work.
Report food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel immediately.
Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education/Experience)
2-year degree in electronics, maintenance mechanics or 5+ years in maintenance mechanics role, including repair or preventive maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics.
Knowledge of CMMS and experience in using such systems preferred.
Stick, mig and/or tig welding skills; ability to weld to sanitary standards preferred.
Intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office.
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts to identify solutions.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
