Job Description:

Adams & Martin Group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal with demonstrated experience in Trusts and Estates in St. Louis, MO. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to attorneys in all aspects of estate planning, estate and trust administration, and related legal matters. This is a client-facing role that requires discretion, professionalism, and an in-depth understanding of fiduciary procedures and estate law.


Job Description:


  • Draft initial and final versions of estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related documents.

  • Coordinate execution of estate planning documents, including managing signing appointments and witnessing formalities.

  • Prepare summaries and flowcharts of estate plans for attorney and client review.

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of probate petitions, notices, and related court documents.

  • Draft correspondence with executors, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and government agencies.

  • Help coordinate collection, valuation, and distribution of estate assets.

  • Prepare and maintain inventories and accountings for estates and trusts.

  • Support attorneys in managing deadlines and court appearances.

  • Monitor trust funding and assist with asset retitling.

  • Prepare and file IRS Forms 706 (Estate Tax Return), 709 (Gift Tax Return), and assist in compiling documents needed for fiduciary income tax returns.

  • Work with CPAs and financial advisors to gather information and coordinate estate and trust tax compliance.

  • Track important tax deadlines and communicate upcoming obligations to attorneys and clients.

  • Serve as a professional and compassionate point of contact for clients during sensitive and emotional periods.

  • Facilitate document review meetings, answer routine client questions, and provide regular case updates.

  • Coordinate meetings between attorneys, clients, and external professionals (CPAs, financial planners, appraisers).





Experience:


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems, and estate planning software preferred

  • Solid understanding of probate procedures, estate/trust administration, and relevant tax concepts.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, discretion, time management, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
