Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.


Job Description Summary:

The Part-Time Communications/Marketing Assistant will support the organization's marketing and outreach efforts by developing and implementing campaigns across various platforms. This role involves creating and scheduling engaging content for social media, newsletters, and websites, as well as monitoring social media accounts and engaging with followers. The assistant will also design marketing materials, assist with content writing and editing, and help track and analyze marketing metrics.


Additional responsibilities include maintaining communication records, coordinating promotional events, and collaborating with teams to ensure brand consistency. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with experience in social media management, design tools, and email marketing platforms. They should be highly organized, able to work independently, and skilled in storytelling and content development.


This position is grant-funded. Continuing employment in this position is contingent upon availability of grant funds.


Responsibilities:


Marketing & Content Creation


  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing campaigns across various platforms.

  • Create and schedule engaging content for social media, newsletters, and website updates.

  • Monitor social media accounts, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers.

  • Design marketing materials such as flyers, graphics, and presentations.

  • Support content writing and editing for blogs, press releases, flyers, etc.

  • Assist in tracking and analyzing marketing metrics and campaign performance.

  • Collaborate with teams to ensure brand consistency and effective messaging.





Administrative & Event Coordination

  • Maintain and update contact lists, email databases, and communication records.

  • Coordinate logistics for promotional events, webinars, and outreach initiatives.




Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree (or working towards a degree) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, etc.).

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar software.

  • Basic knowledge of email marketing tools

  • Familiarity with website management

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with storytelling and creative content development.
