Reports To: Manager, Career, Counseling, and Disability Services

Travel: Day Travel - 3/month

LOCATION: Green Bay

STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.

SALARY RANGE: $58,916 - $63,499 per year

*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed

within the range
based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY

Advise students and individuals in career preparation activities such as career advising and assessments,
resume, and cover letter development, interviewing skills, networking, etc. Develop and promote employer
relations with local businesses and industry. Communicate opportunities and available products for
employment and experiential learning with students, faculty, and business partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Guide students in determining and developing their interests and skills using a wide range of methods based upon career development theories and best practices. Refer students to degree programs that support their career goals based upon personality, interests, aptitudes, work values or educational/career assessments.


• Advise customers in establishing attainable career goals; interview clients to obtain information about employment history, educational background, career goals, and to identify barriers to credential completion and employment.


• Plan, promote and facilitate career and employment-related programs, presentations, and events, such as career planning presentations, work-experience programs, job fairs, and career workshops.


• Instruct individuals in career development techniques such as job search and application strategies, resume writing and interview skills.


• Research, pursue, and secure new business partnerships and build relationships with local employers and the broader community to provide relevant products and services offered by the department.


• Serve as a liaison and perform follow-up activities with the student, instructor, employer, and other partners to monitor student progress, employer satisfaction, identify concerns, and provide support in overcoming obstacles.


• Develop and coordinate strategic business partnerships with secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, business and industry, community organizations, regional alliances, and program advisory committees to create experiential learning, internship, and employment opportunities for students.


• Identify employment opportunities throughout the district; maintain a database of openings by employer and location as well as student matches to employers.


• Promote available services through presentations within the college and to civic groups via strategic marketing practices, print and digital.


• Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with organizations serving diverse populations. Plan career development related experiences/events supporting careers to grow a diverse workforce pipeline.


• Gather and interpret data to prepare and analyze reports for retention, tracking, and evaluate to improve programming. Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures.


• Represent the department on internal and external teams in support of the mission, vision, and strategic directions of the college.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree


• Two years related experience


• Microsoft Office Suite and internet usage


• Previous experience with career advising and job search resource tools


• Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the District's standard insurance policy terms.


• Hold or obtain Career Development Facilitator Certification
