The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the facility is fully operational, safe, clean, and maintained according to company standards. This position performs a variety of skilled maintenance tasks in the areas of carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general upkeep to support the functionality and appearance of buildings and grounds. Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and resolve issues.
Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
Repair and maintain HVAC systems, lighting, doors, locks, furniture, and other facility-related components.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, ensuring timely resolution.
Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or projects.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building codes.
Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and submit purchase requests when necessary.
Assist in setting up for company events, moves, or rearrangement of office space and furniture.
Support emergency response efforts and serve as a key contact for facility-related emergencies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical school or certification in a relevant trade is a plus.
3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various environments, and operate hand/power tools.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Valid driver's license may be required depending on the job location.
Preferred Skills:
OSHA certification or knowledge of workplace safety standards.
Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking software or work order systems
