Job Summary

Brookside is a licensed Health Center of Brigham and Women's Hospital, consistently ranked one of the top 10 hospitals in the nation and part of Mass General Brigham, the largest private employer in Massachusetts. Brookside provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive care with services in a range of areas including: Adult and Pediatric Primary Care, OB/GYN, Family Planning, Dental/Oral Surgery, Nutrition/WIC, and Behavioral Health.
Brookside is currently hiring for a per diem WIC Nutritionist to join our WIC-Nutrition department. This work is based both onsite and remote. We are looking for 8-20 hours/week, depending on service demand. Come join our diverse and collaborative team in this rewarding role!
Job responsibilities:
• Provides nutrition care to WIC participants, under the supervision of the Senior Nutritionist including all aspects of:
o Anthropometric and hematological data collection
o Dietary assessment, nutritional risk assessment and food package prescription
o Nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education
o Documentation and data entry
o Referrals to other health and social services
o Follow up nutrition education
o Co-sign and consult support to nutrition paraprofessional staff
• Participates in department performance improvement/quality assurance activities.
• Participates in department meetings, health center meetings, and applicable WIC task force committees
• Completes all required Brigham and DPH trainings by assigned deadlines
• Completes monthly statistics reports, monthly time study, and other required reports
• May provide training for dietetic interns or volunteers
• Serves as a professional resource for health center staff and community agencies and provides them with nutrition information through individual consultation

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition required
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
Licenses and Credentials
Dietitian and Nutritionist [State License] preferred
Heartsaver CPR AED Certification [CPR] preferred
Registered Dietitian [RD] preferred
Registered Dietitican Nutritionist [RDN] preferred
Experience
Completed Internship
Qualifications:
Ability to provide nutrition counseling in Spanish preferred- functional Spanish is acceptable
Prior WIC experience strongly preferred
Ability to travel to several WIC sites in the Boston area
Familiarity with maternal and child nutrition
Strong individual and group counseling skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong tech literacy
Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
