Description: Our client is currently seeking a Face to Face Sign Language Interpreter

Contract Role



This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and timely interpretation of spoken English into ASL, and vice versa, in various educational settings, including classrooms, meetings, and extracurricular activities.


• Ensure that all communication is interpreted effectively and in a culturally sensitive manner.


• Maintain confidentiality of all student information.


• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and students to develop and implement strategies to support the academic success of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.


• Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students who require interpreting services.


• Provide professional development and training to school staff on deaf culture, ASL, and effective communication strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in American Sign Language interpreting or a related field.


• Certified American Sign Language Interpreter (CASLI) or equivalent certification.


• Proven experience interpreting in educational settings.


• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language grammar, syntax, and culture.


• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Strong organizational and time management skills.


• Commitment to providing inclusive educational experiences for all students.


• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
